Mullein is a valuable herb for congestion/cough and has been used previously for specific treatment for tracheitis and bronchitis. Generally the leaves and flowers are steeped in water to help reduce mucus formation and to help stimulate coughing up phlegm. Mullein is an expectorant and combines with other herbs like Thyme and Coltsfoot to help break up chest congestion.
Caution: Do not take if pregnant/breast feeding. Avoid in small children, or in people with severe liver/kidney disease.
